Murcia was one of the Spanish autonomous communities with the most real estate activity during the last quarter.
27 years is the average mortgage period contracted by people in Murcia

The Region of Murcia recorded 7239 sales during the third quarter of the year, according to the Real Estate Statistics Records that are regularly drafted by the Official Association of Property Registrars. Of this total, 3785 corresponded to newly-built properties and 3454 were second hand property sales.
According to the report, Murcia was one of the few Spanish autonomous communities with higher relative real estate activity, in other words, one of the regions with the highest recorded number of property sales per one thousand inhabitants. In the Region of Murcia, the activity level stands at 23.85%, which is 0.5% above the national average and ahead of other autonomous communities such as the Balearic Islands, Madrid and Catalonia. It was one of the few to register more than 22 property sales per 1000 inhabitants.
Furthermore, the report by the Official Association of Registrars also states that the average term of mortgages contracted in Murcia during the last quarter was 27 years. This is one year less than the national average. The value of these mortgages implied monthly payments of some 846 euros, which is 200 euros less than the average payments paid by Spaniards from other parts of the country who contracted 20 year mortgages during the same period.
